Surfing and kite surfing (gliding sports in Essaouira)
Chergui (the trade wind of the northeast) blows from March till November (average force: 4/5). It increases from mid-June to mid-September (average force: 6, but can attain 7 or 8). In winter, the trade wind becomes less persistent, yielding to low-pressure winds that are gentler for kites, with the constant possibility of going out surfing in the daytime when the winds lose some of their strength. Nice waves in spring and in autumn. Jet skiing is also on hand in numerous places. It has become extremely popular locally, especially since the 2004 World Championship was won by the young Moroccan Jamal Belhasni.

Excursions on foot /on horseback /on bike:
From Marrakech, many excursions are possible, chiefly towards the Toubkal Mountain mass and the magnificent landscapes of its national park (PNT). At the rate of 4 to 6 hours of walk per day, this type of expedition is frequently performed by the tourists who love nature and culture. As they cross the villages of the High Atlas valleys, their excursion takes another dimension with the human contact with nature and culture.
Trekking: several circuits for walking are offered for all levels in valleys higher than 4,000 m and for trekking from 2 to 15 days in some of the most enchanting mountainous areas.
Winter sports: endowed with a ski station, Okaimden is one of the most beautiful skiable terrains in Africa. Okaimden is only 50 minutes’ drive from Marrakech.
Canoeing: it is available in Ourika and Assif Nfiss (during March and April) thanks to the watercourse in the high valleys of the High Atlas.
Hunting sports: there is plenty of game in Asni, (red Barbary partridges, turtle doves, wheat quails and boars). Several travel agencies in Marrakech are specialized in this type of activity.Fresh water fishing: The queen of fresh water is naturally the trout of the Atlas! They go fishing for it in wadis and it becomes a real sport in the canyons. In the High Atlas, the methods used are toc fishing, fly fishing, and throwing. As for the fishing season, it stretches from May to October.

Golf : With its unique climate and enchanting surroundings, Marrakech is golfers’ paradise. The city offers three high quality golf courses, 18 holes each, with attributes that are specific to each site.
• Royal Golf Club: built in 1923 on an area of 74 hectares, it receives some of the most renowned personalities.
• Golf Amelkis: realized by B. Robinson on 63 hectares with beautiful ponds and a breathtaking view on the peaks of the Atlas.
• Palmeraie Golf Palace: realized by R.T.Jones on 72 hectares. It offers beautiful shades and nice ponds.
