Last week in Revere Beach, Mayor Brian Arrigo announced Revere’s new Office of Travel and Tourism, Next Stop Revere: By Land, By Sea, or T. Subsequently, Mayor Arrigo announced Charlie Giuffrida, currently assistant director of the Revere Parks and Recreation Department. , as the new head of the department.
“With Memorial Day on Monday and groundbreaking at Suffolk Downs, now is the time to seize the momentum. The new travel and tourism office, Next Stop Revere: By Land, Sea, or T, will capture millions in revenue from visitors to Revere Beach,” said Mayor Brian Arrigo. “The office will promote all the features that make our city great and act as a connector to help our businesses reap the benefits. The year-round lineup of events – from ice skating to kite surfing, from holiday markets to lighting installations – will make Revere the place to be, whatever the season.
Next Stop Revere is the city’s first intentional initiative to capture millions in additional revenue from visitors to Revere Beach. The office will promote all the characteristics that make our city great and act as a connector to help our businesses reap the benefits.
“Tourism is Massachusetts’ third-largest industry and the next double-digit growth sector for Revere’s economy, which is why it is a central investment priority in the American Rescue Plan Act. “said travel and tourism director Charlie Giuffrida. “Basically, the Tourist Office is the town’s marketing arm; dedicated to showcasing Revere as a destination for local, regional and international tourists. I grew up in this region and I am even amazed to see everything there is here; There is so much to do that I think I will have a great challenge and a great opportunity here to really pack the city in a way that has never been done before.
During Mayor Arrigo’s administration, the town opened over 400 hotel rooms, with 110 in the planning stage and another already planned for Suffolk Downs. This, coupled with the 61 new restaurants and cafes opened since 2016, has brought in millions of dollars in tax revenue for our city. The travel and tourism office will only expand these opportunities by working with community partners, stakeholders and players in the restaurant and hospitality industries. With plans already in place for Suffolk Downs, Squire Road and the Riverfront District Project, the town of Revere will experience thriving growth throughout the next decade and beyond, bringing a better quality of life to our residents and visitors.
The Next Stop Revere team plans to work with organizations such as FMP Productions, who have historically helped plan and organize the Revere Beach Partnership’s International Sand Sculpture Festival, which attracts nearly half a million visitors. in our city every summer. The Travel and Tourism Board already has creative programming for the rest of 2022, with plans to continue events in each season – including holiday lighting installations and winter markets.

• Revere Pride Tea Dance at Waterfront Square – Scheduled for June 26, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waterfront Square at 400 Ocean Ave
• Revere Beach Anniversary Fireworks – Scheduled for July 15, 2022 at Revere Beach
• Revere Open Street event on Broadway – Scheduled for August 2022
• Dine Out Revere – Scheduled for October 2022 and February 2023
• Next Stop Revere Halloween Event – Scheduled for October 2022
• Winter Festival of Lights – Scheduled for December 2022 on Revere Beach
