Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism urged all hotel and tourism establishments in the Sultanate of Oman to continue to adhere to precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A statement released online by the Department of Heritage and Tourism said: “It has recently been observed that some hotel and tourist establishments have been negligent in complying with precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Consequently, the ministry wishes to warn all hotel and tourist establishments of the need to comply with all the decisions issued by this ministry and the other competent authorities concerning the prevention of the spread of Covid-19.
“They are also urged to continue reducing the number of visitors to all hotel facilities, such as restaurants, meeting and banquet facilities, and the rest of other facilities to 50 percent of total capacity. In addition to a full commitment to preventive measures such as wearing a mask in all facilities and maintaining social distancing and other preventive requirements to ensure the safety of society and ‘avoid taking legal measures that could lead to the closure of the facility,’ the ministry added.
