Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Tehran Province, Parham Janfshan, announced on Saturday that a meeting will be held to develop tourism cooperation with Turkey’s Batman Province in coordination and at the invitation of the Iranian Travel Services Association.
The meeting, attended by government and private sector representatives from the Turkish province of Batman, aimed to familiarize both sides with the potential of tourism and handicrafts to develop cooperation.
“The capabilities of Tehran province to export handicrafts, especially in the glass and glass sector, as well as cultural, historical and natural attractions to attract tourists from Batman province have been expressed,” said said the Iranian official.
“In 2 days, the most important tourist attractions of Tehran province and investment opportunities in the form of a tour with the cooperation of the Iranian Association of Travel Service Offices were presented to the guests of the Batman province,” he said.
“Batman is one of the largest provinces in Turkey with many historical and natural attractions,” said Hormatullah Rafiei, chairman of the Iranian Association of Travel Service Bureaus.
“To define a new tourist destination on the Tehran-Isfahan-Shiraz route, centered on Tehran, was one of the objectives of the meeting for tourists from Batman province,” he said.
