IRCTC Launches Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train; to cover all the important places associated with the life of Lord Rama


IRCTC Ltd, a public sector company under the Ministry of Railways, is launching and operating the first Bharat Gaurav tourist train (modern state-of-the-art AC rake) from Delhi on June 21, 2022, which will cover all associated important places to the life of Lord Rama.

The proposed 18-day Bharat Gaurav tourist train tour has its first stop at Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, where tourists will visit Shri Ram Janmbhumi Temple and Hanuman Temple as well as Bharat Mandir at Nandigram. After Ayodhya, the next destination is Buxar where tourists will see the hermitage of Maharishi Vishwamitra and the Ramrekha Ghat where guests can bathe in the Ganges.

From there, the train goes to Sitamarhi for the visit of Sita’s birthplace and continues by road to Janakpur (Nepal). Tourists will spend the night in hotels in Janakpur and visit the famous Ram-Janaki temple in Janakpur. Once the Sitamarhi tour is over, the train proceeds to the oldest living city in the world, Varanasi. While in Kashi, tourists will wander around the temples of Varanasi Sita Samahit Sthal, Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot will be covered by the road. Overnight stays in hotels will be planned in Varanasi, Prayag and Chitrakoot.

The train journey on the next leg is moving to Nasik to stay overnight in hotels. Visiting Trayambakeshwar temple and Panchvati will be covered. The next destination after Nasik is to visit the ancient city of Krishkindha, Hampi with overnight stay in hotels. Here, guests will visit the temple believed to be the birthplace of Shri Hanuman on top of Anjaneyadri hills and other heritage and religious sites. Rameshwaram is the next destination on this train tour where Ramanathaswamy temple and Dhanushkodi will be covered with overnight stay in hotels. The train’s destination is Kanchipuram where the Shiv Kanchi, Vishnu Kanchi and Kamakhshi temples are part of the day’s excursion. From there, the last destination the train reaches in this circuit is Bhadrachalam in the state of Telangana, also widely called the Ayodhya of the south. After that, the train will return to Delhi on the 18th day of its journey, roughly covering a distance of about 8,000 km in this whole Ramayana tour.

This fully air-conditioned tourist train will consist of eleven 3rd AC cars, one pantry car and two SLRs. Freshly cooked vegetarian meals will be served on board to guests in their respective seats from the modern and well-equipped pantry car. The train was also fitted with an infotainment system for passenger entertainment as well as public announcements. Clean restrooms with enhanced security features of CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach have also been provided for tourists.

The launch of the Bharat Gaurav tourist train is in line with the Indian government’s “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative to promote domestic tourism. At a price range starting from Rs. 62,370/- per person, the IRCTC tourist train will be an 18-day all-inclusive package tour. The price of the all-inclusive package will cover train travel in 3rd AC, overnight in AC hotels, all meals (VEG ONLY), all bus transfers and tours, travel insurance and guide services, etc. . All necessary sanitary precautionary measures will be taken care of ensuring a safe and healthy journey during the tour. IRCTC will strive to provide a safe and memorable experience for Guests.

In order to make this package more attractive and affordable for a wide population, IRCTC has partnered with payment gateways Paytm and Razorpay to provide EMI payment options to break total payment into small amount EMI. Users can take advantage of the EMI payment option to make payment in 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months EMI. These EMI payment options can be made by debit/credit cards.

Government/PSU employees can avail the facilities of LTC on this tour as per their eligibility based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

In addition to this, IRCTC will also provide a safety kit to all tourists containing a face mask, gloves and hand sanitizer. Temperature screening of all tourists and staff, frequent disinfection of trains at stopping stations, etc. and other precautions will be taken. Staff will be carefully checked and the kitchen will be cleaned and disinfected after each meal service. Final COVID-19 Vaccination is mandatory for all guests aged 18 and over.
