Monarto Safari Parks unveils the finishing touches to the new Visitor Center which will open to the public on March 25.

The center has the capacity to accommodate an additional 55,000 people a year and has been a major boost to South Australia’s tourism and employment sector.

The $11.25 million project is a major milestone for Monarto Zoo in Adelaide. This is the first of three major upgrades that are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The redevelopment project includes a $40 million hotel and safari experience for guests in the Wild Africa neighborhood.

The space will include an indoor and outdoor cafe, natural play areas, retail and ample parking along with incredible views of the Monarto Plains.

Zoos SA staff and volunteers have been working around the clock to get the new center up and running in their roaring new location.

Monarto Safari park manager Peter Clark said the zoo is more excited than ever to welcome visitors to the new and improved space.

“This is an important milestone for us and we are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to the new space.

The location will serve as an educational center for zoo visitors and animal lovers of all ages, with guests to experience a new era of the safari park.

Visitors can now enter the park from Monarto Road and make their way through newly planted greenery and lush plants to the new Safari Park.

“The new walking trails are complete and our wonderful team of volunteers has planted the last trees and shrubs.

“We’ve been waiting for this day and we’re all very excited, it’s not just around the corner!

The park will be closed for the move from Friday March 18 to Tuesday March 22.

The center will be open to the public from Friday March 25 at 9:30 a.m.
