Sivakarthikeyan meets with Puducherry CM to discuss UT’s high shooting tax

Actor Sivakarthikeyan is getting ready for his upcoming movie, SK20. After completing a filming schedule in Karaikal, the directors are currently shooting for the bilingual film in Pondicherry. Recently, the Remo actor and his team met with the Chief Minister of Pondicherry, N Rangaswamy to talk about the shooting tax.

According to reports, Sivakarthikeyan met with the chief minister on March 24 to discuss the high filming tax in the union territory. Previously, the fee was a minimum of Rs. 5,000 which has now been increased to Rs. 25,000. Photos of their meeting are making the rounds on social media.

As most of the film is likely to be shot in Pondicherry, taxation is a concern for the project budget. The story of SK20 revolves around the romantic saga of a foreign tourist and a tourist guide from Pondicherry. It is a bilingual drama directed by famous Tollywood director Anudeep KV who is known for directing movies like Pittagoda and Jathi Ratnalu. Filming for the Tamil-Telugu venture began in February in Karaikal district. However, the cast and crew have now moved to Pondicherry.

While the Tamil actor will play the role of a tour guide, Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka will play the female lead role. Apart from these two, the film also features Ritu Varma, Sathyaraj and Premgi Amaren among others.

Earlier, one of the film’s producers, Suresh Productions, announced the film on their official YouTube channel.

Along with Suresh Productions, Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Shanthi Talkies are jointly financing the film. The music for SK20 was composed by Thaman S.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film, Doctor, released last year, was a mega blockbuster. The Tamil action comedy managed to pocket Rs. 100 crores at the box office.
