As the world reopens, restrictions are easing and attractions are fully reopening – Americans are visiting their favorite destinations despite rising gasoline prices and rising flight prices.

And according to Google, these destinations are the most searched destinations in the summer of 2022 for Americans:

1. Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park was the world’s first national park and is perhaps the most splendid in America. It was the most popular destination for Americans this summer.

Yellowstone National Park spans 3,472 square miles, with the highest peak at 11,358 feet. The park is so large that it is larger than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined. In 2019, more than 4 million tourists visited the national park.

Yellowstone National Park is also home to 67 species of mammals, 285 species of birds, 5 species of amphibians, and 16 species of fish.

2. Glacier National Park

The second most searched destination by Americans in the summer of 2022 is Glacier National Park. Located in the incredible Rocky Mountains, often called The Rockies— Glacier National Park covers 1,583 square miles.

Additionally, Glacier National Park is known for its amazing hiking trails. Popular trails include Grinnell Glacier Trail, Avalanche Lake via Cedars Trail, Highline Trail: Logan Pass to Granite Park Chalet, Hidden Lake Trail, and Iceberg Lake Trail.

There are currently—although the number is decreasing—26 ice cream parlors in Glacier National Park. The largest glacier is the Blackfoot Glacier. However, the other 25 glaciers are magnificent. The national park remains incredibly popular; it attracted 3.05 million visitors in 2019.

Disney had a mask mandate at its theme parks for nearly two years. But masks are now optional at Disney World. Additionally, travelers no need to be fully vaccinated to enter Disney World.

However, Disney World suggests travelers with symptoms of COVID-19 — such as fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, shortness of breath and congestion — not enter the theme park.

4. Lake Tahoe

Americans looking for a peaceful summer vacation should look no further than Lake Tahoe. The vast freshwater lake is found in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The lake is finished 2 million years, and experts have tested the water to be 99.994% pure.

If you are looking beautiful beaches but don’t feel like heading to Florida, California or Mexico, Lake Tahoe is a great place.

The lake receives around 15 million visitors a year, making it one of the most popular destinations in the United States. It’s not hard to see why!

5. Hershey Park

Finally, Hershey Park is the 5th most searched destination in the United States in the summer of 2022. Located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Hershey Park is a family-friendly theme park 95 miles west of Philadelphia.

Additionally, the theme park includes an impressive 121 acres of outdoor activities mixed with green spaces, shady trees and a wonderful summer sun.

The park also has a zoo, a museum, 13 roller coasters, 15 water attractions and 26 kiddie rides.
